The Embassy of Health and Wellness has developed the Health Intelligence Education (HIE) National Curriculum Integration Programme in collaboration with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Nigeria's statutory body for curriculum development and review. The programme was presented at an event held from 27 June to 1 July 2026, themed "Transforming Health Knowledge into Lifelong Competence."
Health Intelligence Education is designed to move health learning beyond theory into practical competence — equipping students with skills in health literacy, nutrition, emergency response, preventive healthcare, environmental stewardship, resilience, and responsible citizenship.
Building on an existing catalogue
The curriculum framework draws on the Embassy's growing library of health education books, including three newly developed titles extending its reach into institutional and security-sector health: The War College Wellness Doctrine, The Healing Force: Veterans and the Rebirth of a Nation, and Comprehensive Strategic Police Force Medical Innovation for Resilient Health.
Attendees at the programme's reception, recognised as "Health Ambassadors," joined discussions on integrating health intelligence into formal education — with the day's proceedings covered by Africa Independent Television (AIT).
Note
This programme is newly presented. Formal curriculum adoption status and further NERDC confirmation will be added as they become available.
